IDEAL SCENARIO
What an ideal target looks like.
The mechanism stacks in the operator’s favor when four conditions line up at once.
A naturally fractured reservoir that is oil-wet, tight, and low-permeability, with the fracture network well-isolated from aquifers. Natural fractures give the nanoparticles a transport path; oil-wet rock is where the wedge-film / wettability effect produces the largest delta; tight, low-permeability rock is where conventional drainage is leaving barrels behind; aquifer isolation keeps the response from being washed out by water cut.
CANDIDATE MATRIX
Current basin compatibility, at a glance.
The matrix below is updated as field data accumulates. Status reflects deployment readiness, not theoretical compatibility.
| Basin | Play / Interval | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Permian / Midland | Spraberry / Wolfcamp | Strong cohort, multiple verified pads |
| Permian / Delaware | Bone Spring / Wolfcamp | Active program, ongoing pilots |
| Eagle Ford | Austin Chalk / Eagle Ford / Buda | Maturity dependent. Best on re-frac candidates |
| Anadarko | SCOOP / STACK | Vertical + horizontal both in scope |
| Williston | Bakken / Three Forks | Compatible, with selectivity on TDS |
| Powder River | Niobrara, PRB | Lab work in progress |
| Appalachian | Marcellus / Utica (dry gas) | Favorable for LNGs, Dry Gas capability under review |
SCREENING CRITERIA
What we look at on every candidate.
STEP / 01
Formation mineralogy
Carbonate vs. silica balance, clay content, organic matter type. Drives formulation selection.
STEP / 02
Pore-throat distribution
Median throat size + distribution. Sets nanoActiv® transport effectiveness.
STEP / 03
In-situ wettability
Measured or inferred wettability state. Establishes how much shift is achievable.
STEP / 04
Production history
For re-stim: decline curve, prior treatment record, water cut. For new completions: cohort context.
STEP / 05
Formation water chemistry
TDS, divalent cation load, pH. Sets compatibility window with the dispersion.
STEP / 06
Completion design fit
How the treatment integrates with the operator’s existing pumping schedule and fluid system.
